PORTUGAL + SOUTH MOROCCO (16 DAYS)

This is the dream road trip.

It is so addictive, that we have been doing it every year since 1996.

During the winter months (October – March) the waves that have made Morocco famous come to life and world class surf and leg achingly long rides are a everyday occurrence. Morocco is best known for its right pointbreaks, but also has many reefbreaks and beachbreaks of high caliber as well.

We focus on the region north of Agadir also known as Taghazout. This is Morocco's best known surfing zone and contains over 2 dozen documented breaks. What makes it special is the presence of a massive headland along this part of the coast that bends the winds into an offshore direction, cleaning up swells that are often overpowering and crossed up elsewhere, as well as a very indented rocky coastline with many rock and sand points, reefs and quality beachbreaks tucked in. For the surfer on 1 or 2 week holiday who doesn't have time or resources to explore the whole country, this zone is perfect.

A visit to Marrakech, walking around the souk and reach the top of Atlas Mountain, can be also part of the trip program. Add to the mix Surf Maroc's full range of world class waves, Morocco's mind-blowing cultural diversity, breathtaking landscapes and you will have a truly exotic surf trip.

We drive from Lisbon to Agadir. It takes 15 hours. We can do the whole trip in one day or stop to sleep one night at north Morocco. 3 countries in just one trip, Portugal, Spain and Morocco

Usually we spend 5 days in Portugal and 11 days in Morocco. The plan is adapted acording to the surf forecast.

The main goal is to achieve perfection.

At Morocco we stay at Killers Bay luxury apartments. It's one of the most stunning surfing locations in the world. Situated on the peeling right and left reef break of la Source, the waves are so close you can almost touch them. The famous point break Killers rolls in to the right and the easy long fun waves of Mysteries are to the left. Just after Mysteries is the world class Anchor point only a 2 minute walk along the beach. All of the accommodation has private balconies or patios which look out across the landscaped gardens, pool area and onto the breathtaking set up of 4 of the best surf breaks in this part of the world.

This is like living at Gerry Lopez house in Pipeline! You're watching perfect waves all day, even when your chilling at home.

About flights, you must book your flight to Lisbon and, on return home ideally you should book a flight from Agadir or Marrakech, because you will be probably exhausted from surfing every day during the trip and not in the mood of travelling 15h by car to get back to Lisbon. Anyway, we always drive back to Portugal, so it's up to you.
